Florencio Aulestia Guerrero nació en Latacunga, Provincia de Cotopaxi, de la República del
Ecuador, en 1858. Fue el hijo mayor de José Antonio Aulestia Holguín (1811 - 1872), un
militar y un prominente hacendado, y su esposa María Mercedes Guerrero y Guerrero-Matheu,
la nieta de Ignacio Pérez Guerrero, el conde de Selvaflorida IV, y su esposa María Josefa Matheu
y Aranda, la hija menor de los Márquez de Maenza.
Florencio Aulestia tuvo tres hermanos: Baltazar Emigdio, Fidel José, Esteban y una hermana por el nombre de Anatolia. También tenía un hermanastro por el nombre de Segundo Emiliano Mesias, (ocho años después de la muerte de José Antonio Aulestia, la madre de Florencio se casó con Alvaro Emilio Mesias).
Durante su vida, Florencio Aulestia padre de siete hijos. El mayor fue Deifilia Aulestia Navas. (No
hay información disponible sobre su madre). Acerca de 1903, se casó con Rosa María Mier y tuvo
tres hijos con ella, Víctor Florencio Aulestia, Carlos (conocido como "Gringo" por su pelo rubio), y
José, que murió cuando era un bebé. De su matrimonio con Lucila Matheu Trujillo, también tuvo
tres hijos: Guillermo (1920 - 1982), Luisa, y Rafael José.
Florencio Aulestia Guerrero was born in Latacunga, Cotopaxi Province, of the Republic of Ecuador, about 1858. He was the oldest son of Jose Antonio Aulestia Holguin (1811 – 1872), a soldier and prominent gentleman farmer, and his wife Maria Mercedes Guerrero & Guerrero-Matheu, the granddaughter of Ignacio Perez Guerrero, IV Count of Selvaflorida, and his wife Maria Josefa Matheu y Aranda, the youngest daughter of the Marquez of Maenza. Florencio Aulestia had three brothers: Baltazar Emigdio, Jose Fidel, Esteban and a sister by the name of Anatolia. He also had a stepbrother by the name of Segundo Emiliano Mesias, (eight years after the passing of Jose Antonio Aulestia, Florencio’s mother married Alvaro Emilio Mesias).
During his lifetime, Florencio Aulestia fathered seven children. The eldest was Deifilia Aulestia Navas. (No information is available on her mother). About 1903, he married Rosa Maria Mier and had three children with her, Victor Florencio Aulestia, Carlos (known as “Gringo” because of his blond hair), and Jose who died as an infant. From his marriage to Lucila Matheu Trujillo, he also had three children: Guillermo (1920 – 1982), Luisa, and Jose Rafael.
